Reimagined Landing Page

This redesign explores how the Versa App’s landing experience can evolve from a static dashboard into a more motivating, guided, and personalized environment. The goal was to reimagine how users track goals, discover portfolios, and stay engaged through gamified design.

Problem Overview

The original Versa landing page presented information in a dense, text-heavy layout that lacked hierarchy and emotional engagement. Users could see their numbers but not their progress, leading to low motivation and short engagement sessions.

This redesign aims to transform the experience from information-centric to motivation-centric, helping users feel rewarded, guided, and emotionally connected to their financial journey.

Research Insights

Before redesigning, I conducted a quick audit of the existing experience to uncover how users interacted with the landing page. I noticed that key insights like savings goals were buried beneath less relevant content, while the lack of progress feedback made the interface feel transactional rather than empowering.

These observations became the foundation for a more guided and behaviorally-driven dashboard, one that helps users recognize progress instantly and understand their next steps with clarity.

Goals

The goal was to evolve Versa’s landing page from a static dashboard into a motivational experience that encourages users to take action, not just check numbers.

I focused on four key areas to achieve this transformation ↓

Improve Information Hierarchy

Restructured key insights to surface progress first, creating faster visual understanding.

Introduce Gamification

Added milestones and rank systems to reward consistency and progress.

Enhance Visual Readability

Improved layout spacing, color contrast, and typography for better focus.

Increase Personalization

Introduced context-aware “Quests For You” that guide users based on their financial behavior.

Ideation

With the redesign goals in mind, I began rethinking how the Versa landing page could evolve from a static dashboard into a motivational and personalized experience.

Each section was carefully restructured to create a clear narrative. Starting from visual clarity, leading users through progress recognition, and ending with actionable next steps.

The goal wasn’t just to display data more beautifully, but to design an interface that inspires consistent engagement and confidence in financial growth.

Emotional Engagement

Motivational Dashboard

The landing page now opens with a focused, motivational summary of a user’s balance, goal progress, and milestone rank.

By surfacing meaningful data first, users immediately see their progress instead of static numbers. This shift helps reframe the experience from checking balance to celebrating progress.

Anticipated Outcomes

Reflection

This project reminded me that numbers alone don’t motivate people — stories do.

Redesigning Versa’s landing page was about more than reorganizing data. It was about designing an experience that celebrates progress and helps users feel proud of every small win.

Through this process, I learned that clarity and empathy are the foundations of lasting engagement. Fintech doesn’t have to feel rigid; it can be encouraging, personal, and human.

Key Learnings:

  • Motivation and guidance are just as powerful as usability in driving user action.

  • Emotional design builds long-term trust and loyalty, especially in financial products.

  • Designing without real data taught me to simulate outcomes based on heuristics and product vision alignment.
